Thanksgiving Day Events In and Around Columbus

Thanksgiving is more than family and friends, food, and football. There are a growing number of family-centered events that now occur each year in and around the Columbus area. The proceeds from the event benefit Easter Seals and the Make First Five Count Program. Runners World Magazine even has selected this as the best Hometown Favorite Race. All participants also get a swag bag with a shirt, goody bag, and ticket for a finish line snack and drink. There is also an event for the kids called the McDonald’s Tot Trot, which is a 100-yard dash. Each child that participates in this free event gets a t-shirt, ribbon, and treat. Thousands of participants join the races each year, and it’s a great way to work up a big appetite for that delicious meal later in the day while participants and volunteers can cheer on all the runners and walkers. Thanksgiving Wattle The other big event is the Thanksgiving Wattle in Grove City.
